Moving Day….Sort Of….
Sometimes it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
Our lead teacher, Sandy Miller, knows someone associated with HKS Richmond, an architect firm located in RVA. HKS is undergoing an office remodel and they generously donated tables, book shelves, office chairs, file cabinets, AV screens, and other miscellaneous office supplies. Students spent the day working hard to move the items from the office on Cary Street to our campus in Chester.
While at HKS we had the opportunity to talk with one of the architects about a future field trip. Later this year, students will be visiting the office for a formal tour and to learn about how a digital printer helps them create architectural models. We are very grateful to HKS for their donation, as well as their willingness to open up their offices so our students can get a real-life glimpse into the world of architectural design.
After a long day of moving furniture Resi Connell, Head of School, treated students and staff to a delicious lunch!
